Day 01: BELGRADE-ZLATIBOR MOUNTAIN (How to make rakia, food from west Serbia) After arriving to Belgrade Airport, we will drive along West Serbia, a region of charming towns and idyllic mountain villages. At every step the visitor can enjoy beautiful and healthy nature, examples of remarkable cultural tradition and all kinds of activities, all accompanied by a wealth of culinary experiences. We will take a refreshment break and will taste delicious homemade food at the rural household in Kosjeric, in the heart of untouched nature. Next stop is the distillery visit. It is the largest producer of fruit brandies with a geographic origin, awarded with numerous prizes for quality of rakia products. We will do a tasting of the finest rakija. We will continue in the direction of Zlatibor mountain. There we will have dinner with a traditional west Serbian menu. Overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 02: ZLATIBOR MOUNTAINS (Serbian prosciutto, komplet lepinja, culinary course, delicious kaymak) Breakfast. Zlatibor region has its own specialties such as: prosciutto, brandy, buckwheat pie, and the most unique among them a set of buns or “bun with everything” (komplet lepinja). For breakfast we will have “komplet lepinja”, made of the already baked egg bun and mixed with cream cheese. It goes well with yogurt. We will visit the Staro Selo Sirogojno Open air Museum which reconstructs the authentic way of life of the Dinaric highlanders from the 19th century. There will be a traditional brunch with an interactive culinary course /preparing kacamak with wooden spoons adding kaymak and young cheese – corn meal and hominy. We will continue to the picturesque Musvete village and visit the most famous smoke house in the region, which produces smoked delicacies. Tasting of delicious smoked products, rakija and wines. Dinner in restaurant on Zlatibor mountain. Overnight stay.
DAY 03: ZLATIBOR MOUNTAINS-SUMADIJA-BELGRADE (Raspberry metropolis, rakija, raspberry cake, sljivovica, visnjevaca) After breakfast we will drive in the direction of Arilje – “the Raspberry Metropolis” and visit to the Saint Achilles church featuring beautiful well preserved frescoes. We continue our trip with the rural tourist household in Arilje and can expect a cordial welcome by the wonderful locals who produces the highest quality rakijas, natural raspberry juices and run workshops for traditional costumes. There will be a big traditional lunch including the renowned raspberry cake. Continue direction Belgrade with break in the rural tourist household in Grabovica village, famous for excellent plum and cherry rakijas – sljivovica and visnjevaca. We will continue with a drive along the gentle Sumadija slopes and we will arrive at a unique eco farm – rural property for big dinner. After dinner we will have a transfer to Belgrade and hotel accommodation. Overnight stay.
DAY 04: BELGRADE (Traditional dinner with tamburitza music and rakija) Breakfast. We will go on a panoramic and walking city tour of Belgrade. We will see the new Belgrade business district, the Belgrade Arena, Dedinje residential district with its numerous villas, the House of Flowers, former Yugoslavian leader Josip Broz Tito`s memorial house, the Royal Palace, St. Sava Temple, the biggest Orthodox temple on the Balkans, Slavija Square, the Parliament building, Republic Square, Knez Mihajlova pedestrian zone, St. Michael`s Cathedral with the gold-plated carved iconostasis and magnificent Kalemegdan Fortress with a large park area. We will have lunch in a restaurant, followed by a visit to the ”Rakia bar’’ (Serbian plum brandy), an unique restaurant concept in which the finest fruit distillates are always served with creatively and expertly paired food in a contemporary setting that is sure to delight your senses. There will also be a big traditional dinner with tamburitza music for entertainment. Overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 05: BELGRADE Breakfast. Transfer to the airport/end of services.
