DAY 01: ZAGREB-ISTRIA (Istrian supa and much more) Arrival to Zagreb. Meet & greet followed by a transfer to Istria. First there will be a presentation of the culinary program. Our gastronomic tour will start with an Istrian dinner in a typical stylish tavern. You will have the opportunity to taste Istrian ham and cheese, homemade pasta and meat with potatoes accompanied with good wine and Istrian supa with red wine. Overnight accommodation in hotel.
Day 02: ISTRIA (Truffles and wine) Breakfast. Drive to Motovun, one of the most interesting medieval towns. Culinary experts agree only on one thing: that the truffle is on the top level in gastronomy. The unusual underground hidden bulb with no parts above ground is very difficult to find. Only a well-trained dog can sniff them. Truffles grow in grey soil, in the woody humid area of Motovun in the valley of Mirna. Exactly that is where we wil go accompanied by a truffle hunter and be seeking truffles with his well trained dogs. During our 1,5 hours walk through the forest, the truffle hunter will tell us all the secrets and particulars about truffles. After that, a 4-course lunch on based on truffles followed by wine will be served in a specialized restaurant. We will visit one of the best wine cellars in Istria and will be informed about the procedure of wine production. There will also be a wine tasting. Return to hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 03: ISTRIA (Fish, oysters and olive oil) Breakfast. Today we will visit the town of Rovinj - the Jewel of Istria. The town with its long history was already a settlement of Venetian or Illyrian tribes before being conquered by the Romans. We will stroll around the old town and observe St. Euphemia church and the lovely narrow streets. From the church plateau there is a wonderful view of the open sea and numerous islets in the distance. After sightseeing we will proceed to Lim fjord, a real nature reserve due to its untouched Mediterranean vegetation and extraordinary rich sea life. This fjord penetrates the inland for 10 kilometres. Before lunch we will sail along the Lim fjord where you will have the opportunity to visit an oyster farm and to taste fresh oysters. A three-course fish menu will be served in a restaurant. After lunch we will visit olive groves and an oil mill where we will be acquainted with the procedure of olive oil production and you will have the opportunity to taste olive oil. Return to hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 04: ISTRIA - ZAGREB Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport/end of services.
