DAY 01: VIENNA
Arrival to Vienna. Meet & greet followed by transfer to your accommodation. Overnight stay.
DAY 02: VIENNA
Schönbrunn tour. During your guided sightseeing you will visit the splendid Schönbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Habsburg Dynasty. Next we will pass by Prater park with its giant Ferris wheel and see famous landmarks along the Ringstrasse, including Heldenplatz with the nearby Hofburg Palace, the National Theater, the State Opera House, Parliament, City Hall, renowned museums, and the Strauss Monument - a gilded tribute to the great composer. Next we will visit the show of the Lipizzaner horses in a Spanish riding school. This will be followed by a short walk through the most popular street in Vienna, from Kärtnerstrasse to the St. Stephan cathedral, the most impressive gothic church in Austria built in 1433 with a 137m high tower. In famous Sacher hotel we’ll taste the house delicacy, the Sacher cake. For a typically Viennese experience, spend your evening at one of the wine taverns on the outskirts of the city. They are called Heuriger, and some of the best of these taverns are found in the suburbs of Grinzing. Overnight stay.
DAY 03: VIENNA
We will visit the museum twins – Art-history Museum and Nature-history Museum. In the middle of the square between the museums is the statue of the most important woman in Austria: the empress Maria Theresia. Next we will visit the Museums Quartier Complex with the Leopold Museum. The Leopold Museum is presenting a totally reconfigured exhibition of Viennese art at the turn of the century. Titled Vienna 1900. IN the afternoon you can choose between visiting Albertina gallery, the famous graphic museum or the Belvedere palace and its fine art galleries presenting Art Nouveau era and wonderful baroque garden between upper and lower Belvedere palace. in the afternoon we can visit the oldest ZOO in the World founded in 1752. DAY 04: KREMS–DÜRNSTEIN–MELK–SALZBURG
Early morning ride along the "Austrian Romantic Road," west from Vienna to Salzburg. To the north of the river we will follow this lovely old road into Krems, the most rewarding stopover in the Danube Valley, with its old churches, ancient houses, and cobblestone streets. Next stop, the old wine town of Dürnstein where King Richard I of England was held captive by Leopold V, Duke of Austria after their dispute during the Third Crusade. The town is still partly surrounded by its once fortified walls. From Dürnstein, we will follow the route 33 along the south bank of the Danube to Melk Abbey, the greatest baroque abbey of Austria. Late arrival to Salzburg. Overnight stay.
DAY 05: SALZBURG
Breakfast. Welcome to Mozart's city. First we will visit the Mirabell Palace gardens with its famous statues. Mirabell gardens are in one of the scenes of the Oskar winning movie The Sound of Music. Next we will visit Mozart's Birth house on Getreidegasse, the Old Square to taste the famous Fürst chocolate Mozartkugeln, The old Archbishop's Seat, the Cathedral, Festival hall, St. Peter's Abbey Church with a graveyard. In the afternoon we will take a ride with a cable car to the fortress Hohensalzburg, one of the largest medieval castles to enjoy the view over the Salzach walley. Overnight stay.
DAY 06: SALZBURG–HALLEIN–HELLBRUNN
Breakfast. Fun, adventure and mystical moments await you in the ancient realm of "White Gold". The salt mines in the area were the source of Salzburg's wealth. We'll hop aboard the mine train for a comfortable, fun-filled ride into the center of the mountain, where two long miners' slides take them down to a subterranean salt lake, site of a new multi-media show that transports them into a magical world of light and sound. We'll follow the footsteps of the ancient Celts, who had been mining salt here since 400 BC, and discover the mysterious world of the miners themselves who, with their bare hands, dug kilometers-long labyrinths deep into the mountain. Next stop will be Hellbrunn, where we will visit the palace and trickfountains of the Salzburg Archbishops in the gardens. We will have our farewell dinner in one of the biggest Austrian breweries: Stiegl. Overnight stay.
DAY 07: SALZBURG
End of services. Transfer to Vienna.
